Billing

PMLD posts the following charges to your account:

Monthly Service Charge  — a set rate per type of service based on cost incurred reading and maintaining your meter and service as well as capital equipment (wires transformers, poles and maintenance) that serve your home and town.

Usage Charge  — the per kWh charge based on consumption and type of service.

Purchase Power Cost Adjustment  — changes in cost of fuel and transmission line charges based on contractual or adjudicated agreements or outside influences beyond our control.

Demand Charge  — based on consumption and/or three phase service.

PMLD Invoice Related Policies

All bills are payable upon receipt.

An early payment discount of 5% is allowed on RESIDENTIAL bills when paid by 4:00P.M. on or before the 20th of each month. If the 20th falls on a Saturday, Sunday or Holiday the discount is extended UNTIL 12 NOON OF THE NEXT WORKING DAY. No discount will be allowed on the monthly service charge or on an account with a balance due greater than the amount of the previous discount.

Budget plans are available which provide an equalized payment arrangement. Contact the PMLD office.

There will be a charge for repair service when the fault is in the customers fusing, or wiring or is caused by the customer.

Disputes

The customer has the right to dispute the company's compliance with the proper application of rates or charges. Such action must be done before the 20th of the month in question by telephone, mail or in person, to the Princeton Municipal Light Department. PMLD will make a substantial effort to resolve the customer complaint. If the complaint remains unresolved the customer has the right to appeal to the:

Termination of Service

PMLD has the right to terminate service if a bill is not paid within forty-five (45) days of receipt. Notice must be rendered to the customer at least seventy-two (72) hours but no more than fourteen (14) days prior to said termination. Termination may be effected between the hours of eight (8:00) A.M. and four (4:00) P.M. Monday thru Thursday. The customer will be informed of their rights and responsibilities, in writing, with the notice of termination.
